RYLA Weekend

Rotary Youth Leadership Award commonly known as RYLA.

RYLA became an official Rotary project in the 1960’s.  The program emphasizes leadership and personal growth.  It encourages the leadership of youth by youth.  As outlined by Rotary International, every RYLA program covers the following core topics:

1. Fundamentals of leadership
2. Ethics of positive leadership
3. Importance of communication skills in effective leadership
4. Problem-solving and conflict management
5. Rotary’s purpose and service to the community
6. Building of self-confidence and self-esteem
7. Elements of community and global citizenship

RYLA is an international Rotary program with participation limited to high school juniors.  This all-expenses paid camp award will be January 10-12, 2025, at the Pineywoods Baptist Encampment between Livingston and Lufkin, TX.
